suit your need. You can grow flowers or vegetables. Not only will these vertical gardens save you a lot of space, but they are also unique and decorative pieces to beautify your garden,backyard.

TRANSFORMATION OF PVC PIPE INTO FLOWER TOWER

We purchase a PVC pipe 2,5 m lengh and cut it in half to make two 1,25m towers,but you could go with any lengh you want.
You can buy PVC pipe at most any house improvement store. You will also need a 6 cm hole
saw,the kind you can use with an electric drill.
Once you've got evrything,you can lay out where your holes will go, and cut them with the
hole saw.
There are 4 vertical rows of holes on each pipe.Along each row,the holes are verically 30 cm
apart,center to center. Stagger the holes so that the holes on one row aren't lined up evenly with the holes in the adjacent row. These measurements and spacings will give you 2 row of 4 holes alternating with 2 rows of 3 holes for a total of 14 holes.
STABILITY - Stability of the mobile vertical PVC pipe flower garden consists in the use of the hollow cemented socle.This hollow cement moulding socle is used to erect the filled pipe in vertical stable position..It is equipped with roller wheels at its base in order to be moved easily.

IRRIGATION - the simplest arrangement for irrigation is to use a single drop irrigation system using
a flow regulator with roll clamp(accessory from a medical intravenous infusion device) positioned at the top of the pipe to deliver irrigation water.
Two cases to consider :
1) If it's a single tower,the water will be dispensed drop by drop from a small hole at the bottom of the bottle whose closing capsule on its top is equipped with a flow regulator.
2) Watering for a series of vertical PVC pipe gardens requires the installation of the water distribution system comprising a water tank connected to a water conductor
plastic tube.Drip irrigation is carried out by means of flow regulators included along it.That's what we call a multiple drip irrigation system.

Drip irrigation is the most efficient method of irrigation while spinkler systems are around 75 - 85% efficient, drip systems typically are 90% higher. Drip irrigation is easy to istall,easy to design,can be very inexpensive,can reduce disease problems associated with high levels of moisture on some plants.The high efficiency of drip irrigation results from two primary factors :
The first is that : The water soaks into the soil before it can evaporate or run off. The second is that the water is only applied where it is needed rather than sprayed everywhere.
Water saving methods using drip irrigation systems can save 70% more water than conventional irrigation : Water is not wasted .

GROWING MEDIUM - We use potting soil (terreau universel) mixed with granular fertilizers that we could choose to use.(probably the best would be to choose some form of slow release granular
fertilizers to mix into growing medium.
PVC pipe garden medium must be porous in order to support plants because roots require both air and water.
Packaged potting soil available at local garden centers is relatively lightweight and may make a good pipe medium.
Make sure of your planting medium drains but retains enough moisture to keep the roots evenly moist.Commercial potting mixes are usually utilisable.
FERTIILIZING - It is a good idea to use a dilated fertilizer with every other watering.You need to provide plant with a variety of nutrients.Check the labels on the products in your garden center to be sure that they contain a complete balanced solution.
